I can see where the businesses end & the houses begin -- among lightbulbs in the sky! It's one of my favourite places to be, & on this particular day I stood @ this spot for a half-hour-plus.

There's not any way of knowing why the residents split. They left some Xmas trimmings next to the door. I hope that every body ended up okay. The sign in the window of that turquoise-coloured building says that "Unity Saves Lives."
